I tried my hand at some amateur black smithing. I heated up a butter knife in the fire, and used a hammer to bang it in half. I couldn't have done it without the fire.

I have started making an airfix jaguar e-type.

I did something special with fire.

The new cat, a nursing queen is apparently a good mother. I guess that the only problem is that she is very friendly, and if you stroke her she rolls over and squashes her kittens or throws them off her. 

We have tiny kittie cats!!!

We have got a new cat. It is a nursing queen with two two day old kittens. She is a beautiful tabby and white cat and her babies are beige and black and white.

We are getting something interesting that might require my table adjustment.

We have got a book from the library. It is about a man who went and lived in the Welsh hills for five years. I really like this book, it is a relaxing read.

Today, in order to accommodate the possibility of more kittens, I have heightened my table in order to fit another cage underneath. To hold the heightening blocks in place I have made some double headed nails. I made them by cutting the head off of a normal nail then holding it in place with a drill, I then spun it at high speeds and held a file at an angle against the cut head of the nail which shaved a fine point to it. It worked rather well I think, it would be nice to have a second cat or kittens at the same time.

Lyra purred for the first time today.

I have made a wooden box out of some old trellis and a bit of shed door.

The kittens went for their booster vaccinations yesterday evening. After they got home they were I bit grumpy. They wouldn't sit still and be stroked but would his and run away.

I have discovered a great YouTube channel.
The owner of this great channel is a plumber in real life but on his channel he is a mad inventor.
He make crazy rocket cars, turbo charged tuk-tuks and a working grapple gun from Assassins creed!!
I  think he make some fabulous things but some are just plain crazy!!!

Here is the recipe for cheese balls ( makes about 60):

    Ingredients: 1lb chicken breast in small pieces

                       1lb potatoes boiled slowly

                       1 heaped teaspoon minced fresh green chilli from a jar

                       1 heaped teaspoon crushed garlic

                       1 level teaspoon of salt and pepper each

                       6oz mature grated cheddar

                       2 dessert spoons of cornflower

                       1 small can of sweetcorn drained

Cook the chicken, chilli and garlic on low without oil or water, Then shred it a little with your fingers.

Cook the potatoes whole on a low heat, then peel and mash and leave to go cool.

Thicken two desert spoons of cornflour in a pan with some milk and the salt and pepper.

Mix the chicken, a small can sweet corn, the mashed potato, and the grated cheddar. Mix in enough cornflour sauce to make it all stick together. The  amount of sauce you will need depends on how much water the potatoes absorbed.

Roll the cooled mixture in to balls the size of large marbles then dip the balls in to beaten egg and then roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat the dipping and rolling process once more to keep the mixture in when you cook them.

Then you can cook them instantly or straight from the freezer.

We have made some cheese balls. They are made out of mashed potato, chopped chicken, squeaky sweet corn and plain ol' cheese. Bound with cornflour and milk and dipped in egg and coated in golden breadcrumbs.

Sometimes I get rather bad head aches. Mum got there from the shop and they seem to help. Maybe Iorek has a headache as well.

Our foster kittens are "play" fighting. I think they are play fighting like normal kittens, but Mum thinks they are more serious, especially the small one on top!

On the weekend my cousins came round to see the kittens.

Lyra the smaller kitten seems to be bullying Iorek. She is taking advantage of the factthat he is ill. She jumps on his back and I think they are play fighting but mum thinks she has an evil glint in her eye.

The kittens we are fostering are getting much more tame. 

The other day we made a layered  pavlova. We put fruit and chocolate on it. Some of the disks stuck to the baking tray.

Mum got a cat seat from Argos. It hooks on to the radiator and makes a heated chair for cats.

Mum went to the supermarket earlier and got some interestin stuff. She got gold top milk and cornflakes. I really like cornflakes and I love them when they have the best creamy milk with them.

 She also got chocolate eggs. When she rang to ask me which flavour I wanted I thought that were mini eggs like creme eggs not Easter eggs.i thought I was getting a large aero ball but I was pleasant surprised.

Also at ibraheems request mum got a coconut. We had the coconut but Bilaal didn't get any because he doesn't like it.

Today I made a bag or of some old cloth. I put a piece of corex (corrugated plastic) between two bits of cloth and held it in place with a quick tacking stitch. I then took a wide strip of cloth from of Bilaal's old t-shirts and sewed it all together and last but not least I added the drawstring.  

We are fostering the kittens for New Start Cat Rescue. These are too scared to be homed and would end  staying in a shelter for life. They can't be tamed if that haven't had any human contact by the time they 6 months old. The New Start Facebook page

I have discovered a photoshop app on the iPad. I have b en fiddling around with it and then I went mountain climbing and Ibraheem became gollum from The Hobbit.

Even Bilaal was once cute.......   But now I daren't speak of him.

Today we went to Sahara lounge. It is a cafe outside the museum. I had a waffle with icecream and srawberrys and chocolate sauce.

Ever since we got Rommel Jemima has been in a bit of a huff. She dislikes anyone to pick her up, and if you do she meow sviciously. Now that we have got the feliway she is acting more normal.

This morning Lyra is being much more friendly. She is sitting up and cleaning herself and eating with out being told.

Today the kittens went to the vets. We thought that Lyra had a cold and we were right. The vet stuck her thermometer up her bum to measure her. Mum said that is because the kittens won't hold a thermometer in their mouth and don't have the right types of ear.

The feliway arrived n the post yesterday. It was for jemiama but we had a spare on and we put it in my room for the kittens. Is is supposed to make them more friendly and less hissy.

Today was the last day of the steam sale. So I got two new games. Kerbal Space Program and Garry's Mod. In total I spent 12 pounds on games worth 37 pounds.

 Yesterday we had a fire in the garden.

 

I have still not finished my scarf. But I have started a side project, I am starting to make a blanket for the kittens.

My knitting bag arrived in the post today. The kittens seem to like sitting in it.

Today we went to robinswood hill. We tried to have a fire but it was way too windy. A match wouldn't stay alight more than half a second. And even the fire lighters mum bought in the shop wouldn't stay alight. In the end I I just had my coffee and we gave up on making a fire and went home.

On Sunday at four o clock in the afternoon two new kittens came, only three hours after Rommel left. They much more scared than Rommel was and will hiss, spit or growl at you if you put your hand in front of the faces. And so you can't approach them from the front. They may look happy but they are petrified.
